LUGE - DRAMATIC AND EXCITING ACTION ON ICE

The Olympic discipline of Luge is a dramatic and exciting ice sport, requiring great courage and skill.  The athletes – feet first on sledges – shoot downhill through the curves of artificial ice tracks, reaching very high speeds and withstanding considerable G force.

Popular in alpine regions
Luge is particularly popular in the alpine regions, especially in Austria, Canada, Germany, Norway, Northern Italy and Russia. The 2009/10 FIL Luge World Cup is now underway with a racing schedule of nine events (women’s single, men’s single, doubles and team) running from November through to February. The 2010 European Championship is scheduled for 23 – 24 January in Sigulda, Latvia.

Attracting a wide audience
The events appeal to a wide audience drawn to the fast, dynamic and courageous nature of the sport. The 2008/09 World Cup received a cumulative television audience of over 495 million with 359 of them watching from Germany where fans enjoyed over 45 hours of coverage.

High degree of exclusivity
Infront has designed a variety of sponsorship opportunities across a range of events. The unusually high degree of exclusivity for event sponsors (a maximum of four) provides a strong, clear platform to promote brands and products.

This year International brand Viessmann (heating manufacturer) has taken up the Title Sponsor role joining Adidas and Eberspächer. The Viessmann Luge World Cup 2009/10 package also provides further opportunities for two Main Sponsors and an Organising Committee Sponsor. These packages provide:

  • Product exclusivity for all official sponsors
  • Advertising opportunities in camera view at the start, finish and along the track
  • Logo integration with backdrops, printing materials and internet presence
  • On-site product placement including Inflatables and promotional stand
  • Access to VIP and hospitality areas (including taxi bob rides and ice rafting)
