Popular in alpine regions
Luge is particularly popular in the alpine regions - Austria, Germany and Northern Italy as well as Canada and Russia. The 2010/2011 FIL Luge World Cup will take place between November and February with a racing schedule of nine events (women’s single, men’s single, double seater and team relay). The 2011 World Championship is scheduled for 28/30 January in Cesana, Italy.
Attracting a wide audience
The events appeal to a wide audience drawn to the fast, dynamic and courageous nature of the sport. The cumulative viewership for the season 2009/2010 reached over 403 million (shortened season due to Olympic Games). The events were broadcast across 59 countries in total with fans in Germany enjoying more than 30 hours of televised coverage. For the 2010/11 season the newly introduced Team Relay event will further increase exposure and fan excitement.
High degree of exclusivity
Infront has designed a variety of sponsorship opportunities across a range of events. The unusually high degree of exclusivity for event sponsors (a maximum of four) provides a strong, clear platform to promote brands and products.
Traditionally, International brand Viessmann (heating manufacturer) has taken up the Title Sponsor role joining Adidas, Eberspächer and newcomer Money Service Group. The Viessmann Luge World Cup 2010/11 package also provides further opportunities for two Main Sponsors and an Organising Committee Sponsor.
These packages provide:
- Product exclusivity for all official sponsors
- Advertising opportunities in camera view at the start, finish and along the track
- Logo integration with backdrops, printing materials and internet presence
- On-site product placement including Inflatables and promotional stand
- Access to VIP and hospitality areas (including taxi bob rides and ice rafting)
