The world’s leading promoter of skiing

Infront is working closely with the International Skiing Federation (FIS) and race organisers in the top skiing countries of the world to elevate the commercialisation of the FIS World Cup series to a new level, creating a spectacular television experience for viewers and a consolidated platform for sponsors.

FIS WORLD CUPS

The FIS World Cups are the most exciting winter sports series worldwide. Achieving a cumulative television audience of more than four billion viewers per season and top television ratings in major broadcast markets, the FIS World Cup events are among the most popular in the world today.

“FIS welcomes Infront’s more exclusive approach to providing value to a limited number of sponsors. This is an important and carefully-considered move forward, which will further strengthen the image of the FIS Alpine World Cup. We have also been working with Infront on a separate ‘optimisation’ project, designed to fine-tune the series’ promotional activities and further increase the standard of event organisation for the benefit of the National Ski Associations, athletes, fans, and media amongst others.”
Gian Franco Kasper, President of the FIS

The world’s leading promoter of skiing

Infront Sports & Media is the commercial partner of most national skiing federations that host FIS Alpine Ski, Cross Country, Ski Jumping, Nordic Combined, Snowboard and Freestyle Skiing World Cups. Managing the media and/or marketing rights of more than 90% of the FIS World Cup events on a collective basis, Infront ensures the effective co-ordination of television coverage, high broadcast standards and an exciting television showcase for the competition. A new innovative, streamlined sponsorship platform created by Infront and introduced in the 2009/2010 season for the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup has proved highly appealing to leading brands.

World-class premier skiing

The FIS World Cup events are the ultimate in ski competition, aside from the unique role of the Winter Olympic Games. Considered by many to be the most valuable title in winter sports, the FIS World Cup demands an extremely high level of performance in the respective disciplines throughout the season, - not just in one single competition. The sport is perceived as healthy, clean and challenging; great television action for broadcasters and a great promotional platform for sponsors.

The 2010/2011 FIS Alpine Ski and Nordic World Cup races will be held between October and March, covering 66 ski resorts across 18 countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA.

Extensive broadcast coverage

The 2009/2010 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup generated over 2,000 hours of broadcast time, 1,100 hours of which were live. They were broadcast across more than 60 national television stations, with a cumulative television audience of 2.8 billion.

Streamlined partnership structure

Infront is in the unique position of being able to market the majority of races in the FIS World Cup. To ensure maximum exposure, the number of event sponsors per race is capped at seven - plus FIS Partners in the title and data/timing categories. A stylish venue communication concept is being implemented, producing a cohesive look and feel for the competition and increasing the brand impact for all sponsors involved.

The sponsors may choose from five different packages – Bib, Start area, Course area, Cascade area (section just before the finish line) or Finish area. Advertising in camera view depends on the package selected and is exclusive within the course section booked (two partners in Finish area). All packages also include:

Logo placement on interview backdrop, in VIP lounge/ hotels and on all event related print materials Advertising in the official programme, on the event website and on the maxi screen in the finish area

On-site product promotion activities and access to the VIP and hospitality areas.

The recently streamlined marketing programme has resulted in revenue increases from existing clients as well as new prospects.

Existing sponsors - such as Colmar (ski clothing), Helvetia (Swiss insurance company), Rauch (furniture company) - have been joined by Stobag, Money Service Group, Milka, Generali and most prominent: Emmi, the leading Swiss dairy company, signing a four year package which ranks as the biggest FIS World Cup sponsorship deal arranged by Infront to date (excluding title sponsor).
