Every year, in April/May, the 16 best ice hockey teams in the world come together to play 56 games to establish the new World Champion. Every year, this competition becomes a greater success. A consistent, long-term marketing partnership with Infront has contributed to this success, with supportive sponsors who stay involved for many years.
Skoda has been an IIHF sponsor since 1992 and Official Main sponsor since 1993, which means that its current contract - which lasts to 2011 - will create a 20 year partnership. Other established partnerships include Tissot, Nike and Konica Minolta among a strong group of 10 Official Sponsors.
The framework for growth established by Infront has included building a brand platform for the sport to bring consistency to the presentation of all events and marketing the event as the premier winter sports platform for broadcasters. Improving event organisation and effective communication have proved key, so that those involved in running events can work together in a seamless relationship, each year building on the achievements of the last.
