Bobsleigh and Skeleton

Infront and the Fédération International de Bobsliegh et de Tobogganing (FIBT) have recently signed an exclusive agreement covering worldwide media rights for the Men’s and Women’s bobsleigh and skeleton World Championship and World Cup events. The agreement runs for a period of five years through the 2010/11 season.

Cutting edge coverage for downhill winter sports

Infront is responsible for marketing all forms of electronic media rights for these fast, exciting sports on ice, including television, radio, internet and mobile communications worldwide. It is offering packages to broadcasters on a market-by-market basis, including live, delayed and highlights, based on the coverage provided by FIBT.

The FIBT is unusual, in that it produces its own high quality television coverage of  its own events — delivering cutting-edge production standards that have been improved on a continuous basis over the past 10 years. This in-house television production guarantees that the television pictures capture the unique drama of the sport and meet key criteria of sponsors, fans and broadcast media partners.

2006/2007 the FIBT introduces an upgraded international feed for general distribution, several supplementary feeds and a post-race highlights package for rights holders.

FIBT’s events are among the most successful winter sports on television. In the 2005/2006 season FIBT World Cup competitions (bobsleigh and skeleton) reached a cumulative audience of more than 410 million viewers and a total transmission time of almost 250 hours. The popularity of the FIBT disciplines was reflected in exceptional television ratings from the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. Germany’s two and four-man bobsleigh victories attracted more than 10 million viewers (market share: 30% and 35%). In Switzerland the final four-man bobsleigh run was the second most-watched Olympic event with a market share of 39%.
