Insuring success: Infront recruits Du-Bang for the Steel Roses


Zug, Switzerland / Beijing, PR China – Infront Sports & Media has signed an agreement with Du-Bang Insurance as an Official Partner of the Chinese women’s national football team in the key period leading up to and including the Beijing Olympic Games.

Du-Bang is to be the presenting sponsor in six vital upcoming Team China Women pre-Olympic warm-up matches, starting with the match China vs. North Korea on April 8, 2008. Its package of rights includes perimeter advertising; tickets and hospitality opportunities and the use of player images for consumer campaigns (collectible images).
Women’s football is a fast-growing sport internationally – up 19% in 2006 – and the Chinese women’s team has been a pioneer of the women’s game. The Steel Roses have enjoyed a decade of dominance over Asian rivals and won the AFC Women’s Championships in 2006, progressing to the quarter-finals of the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup in China last year. The youth team were runners-up in the 2006 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Russia, a good augury, although competition among Asian women’s teams is more intense than ever before.

Infront’s partnership with the Chinese Football Association (CFA) includes responsibility for the marketing and providing key support for the technical development of the men’s, women’s and youth teams. It is recruiting sponsors who share its aim of building long-term support for the teams and the women’s game is one of the most promising sectors.

Focus on Chinese women’s sport makes sense

“Women’s products are the growth story in China, leading the current surge in advertising spend”, said Paul Wong, General Manager of Infront China. “Women make a lot of purchasing decisions for the family. It makes a lot of sense for companies such as Du-Bang to focus on a women’s sport, especially one in which China is proving so successful against tough international competition”.
