FC Energie Cottbus and Infront renew partnership ahead of time up to 2014/15 season

Infront continues to market shirt sponsorship of the ambitious 2. Bundesliga club

Cottbus, Germany/Zug, Switzerland - FC Energie Cottbus continues to rely on Infront Sports & Media: The club and its marketing partner have extended their successful partnership before the expiration date of the existing contract. The new agreement covers three more seasons - up to and including 2014/15. The partnership, in place since 2009, includes the marketing of the main sponsor package and is valid for the 1. and 2. Bundesliga.

FC Energie Cottbus is the most eastern of all 36 Bundesliga clubs and has established itself in the past as one of the most reputable brands in the region with a highly attractive image - not least thanks to the success of reaching the DFB Cup semi-final in the 2010/11 season. Solid managment, intensive work with young players and a constant desire to prevail against the big teams of the league characterise the club and have led to high sympathy values across Germany. The main sponsor package, which is marketed by Infront, includes the shirt sponsorship and other attractive communications platforms such as perimeter advertising at the Stadion der Freundschaft, integration of the logo throughout the club and VIP hospitality.

Collaboration provides convincing results

Over the past three years Infront has won strong partners with regional footing and national focus on behalf of FC Energie Cottbus. From 2009 to 2011 Penny, the successful discount store chain of the REWE Group, advertised on the FC Energie shirts. For the 2011/12 season Tropical Islands, Europe's largest tropical leisure resort, was signed as a new main sponsor. In addition, Infront secured SEAT (cars) and IPS Packaging (packaging equipment) as a board partner and advised FC Energie Cottbus on the installation of a new rotating advertising system. The club has truly benefited from Infront's extensive football sponsorship know-how and its efficient implementation.

Ulrich Lepsch, President of FC Energie Cottbus: "Our reflection of the last three years of collaboration is extremely positive and therefore has paved the way for an extension. We value Infront as a reliable and dedicated partner who has worked hard, to achieve optimal marketing for our club through the significant shirt sponsorship and beyond. Their many years of experience in football marketing along with an excellent network is the guarantee that this partnership will go from strength to strength."

Günter Netzer, Executive Director of Infront Sports & Media, added: "With hard work in all areas, an indigenous organisational philosophy and good sports performance, FC Energie Cottbus has seen solid and successful development over recent years. The club’s strong power of identification in the region and increasing sympathy levels throughout Germany will further strengthen this process and will also have an impact on the marketing. We plan to further exploit the potential over the coming years together with the club and are looking forward to the continuation of this trustful collaboration."
