Rostock / Munich, Germany - The charity match between FC Hansa Rostock and FC Bayern Munich on 14 July 2013 in the DKB-Arena (kick-off 4.50pm GMT) is attracting significant media attention.
The match is part of the campaign ”Say Yes to FCH” and comes to the rescue of the financially troubled third division club FC Hansa Rostock. The triple champions from Munich signalled the announcement of a friendly match in favour of the ‘Hanseatic’ team, demonstrating their enthusiasm to support the club some time ago. All high profile Bayern players, along with new Manager Pep Guardiola, will travel to the Baltic coast directly arriving from their summer training camp in Trentino, Italy. The club is waving all commercial revenues generated.
The game in the Rostock DKB-Arena has been sold out since mid-April, and all VIP tickets are also sold-out, leaving only a few tickets remaining for the DKB-Arena Business Club.
Hansa’s CEO Michael Dahlmann is enthusiastic: ”The willingness of this world club to support us is phenomenal. Bayern Munich has managed to remain a heartfelt family club, despite its size. We take our hats off to the team and sincerely thank you for the help. The proceeds from this game are an important part of our reorganisation plan.”
In Germany, the appearance of the German record champions will be broadcast live on NDR television. As the long-term marketing partner of FC Hansa Rostock, the international sports marketing company Infront Sports & Media, is responsible for the successful distribution of the media rights to the match. Broadcast coverage (in most cases live) will be available in over 40 countries, with contracts signed for various markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa as well as South and Central America.
Also handling the marketing of sponsorship packages for the event, Infront is installing its state-of-the-art LED perimeter advertising system for the first time in the DKB-Arena, providing sponsors with a highly attractive brand communications platform. In addition to each club’s main sponsors: Palmberg (office furniture) for Hansa Rostock and German Telekom for Bayern Munich, other regional and national companies have also secured their exposure at the match on 14th July.
