Full array of sponsorship activations and entertainment highlights together with digital campaigns increase exposure in Turkey and beyond
Istanbul, Turkey – This Sunday saw the successful staging of the Spor Toto All-Star 2017 basketball event. The 140:135 victory of Team Asia over Team Europe was followed by more than 10,000 spectators on site at the Ülker Sports Arena in Istanbul, Turkey. Infront Sports & Media, a Wanda Sports company - as exclusive global media and marketing partner of the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF), provided full services including event operation, marketing, media production and media rights distribution.
The Spor Toto All-Star 2017 was transmitted live across Turkey and distributed to another 13 countries. The broadcast was handled by the Basketball Super League’s official broadcaster NTV Spor with 12 cameras plus two GoPro cameras covering all the action in full HD. In addition, RedBull.com’s production team filmed the event backstage with eight cameras, creating exclusive content and interviews.
Sponsors showcase exciting activations alongside player entertainment
With a total of 11 sponsors involved, fans onsite enjoyed a full line-up of entertainment, which featured not only the game, but also the MetLife Slam Dunk Contest, ING Bank Three-Point Shoot-Out and LeasePlan Skills Challenge.
On the digital side, Mitsubishi co-ordinated the Most Valuable Player (MVP) campaign for the first time in the All-Star history. The match campaign monitored the most-used player hashtag across Twitter and Instagram - with basketball star Bogdan Bogdanovic from Fenerbahçe Basketbol coming out on top. The event was complemented by activation and fan engagement campaigns from Vivident, Bilyoner.com, Herbalife, Memorial Hospitals, Tatilsepeti.com and Tamek, which transformed the All-Star Day into an unforgettable experience.
World famous athletes as guests
Famous athletes and celebrities took their seats at the event to enjoy the exciting contests, staging engaging and entertaining performances and a half-time concert. Amongst others, FC Barcelona’s football player Arda Turan surprised the spectators by participating in the second period of the game. In addition, RedBull’s BMX World Champion rider Viki Gomez and Ayşe Begüm Onbaşı, Turkish Gymnastics World Champion, thrilled the spectators with great performances.
