Zug, Switzerland / Ramat Gan, Isreal, 12 February 2010 – The long-standing marketing partnership between the Israel Football Association (IFA) and Infront Sports & Media is being extended for a further period, from 2010 to 2014. This new contractual period will incorporate the qualification matches for the UEFA EURO 2012™ and the 2014 FIFA World Cup™.

The marketing partnership between the IFA and Infront has been running for over 15 years. The long-standing nature of this agreement is in line with Infront’s extremely stable relationships with its many football federation partners.

The agreement covers the media rights for home qualification and preparation matches played by the Israeli national team (A team).

Showing steady progress
Although Israel has not qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, the team has performed well during the qualification round with four victories, four draws and only two defeats. In their France 1998 and Korea/Japan 2002 qualifying groups, Israel finished a respectable third. The team reached a play-off for a place at UEFA EURO 2000™, where they lost out to Denmark.

Avi Luzon, President of the Israel Football Association, said: “Infront has been a most reliable and experienced partner of the IFA for many years and has always delivered best possible results in terms of broadening the media coverage for our team. The new contract gives us the required financial stability for the next years, so that we can fully concentrate on the two upcoming qualification rounds.”

Philippe Blatter, Infront’s President & CEO, added: “For Infront, the renewal with the IFA is the second important prolongation with one of our many long-term federation partners in football within the past four weeks. Our dedicated team will continue to create significant value for the IFA during the upcoming contractual period.”
