Zug, Switzerland, 5 August 2011 – Infront Sports & Media has invested in four new LED systems, thereby strongly upgrading the advertising solutions offered to its sports clients. The new system provides one of the fullest and most advanced visual brand communication options available on the market. The state-of-the-art technology in hardware and software has been specifically tailored to current requirements and the specific needs of Infront’s clients, including FIFA, the DFB (German Football Association) for the DFB Cup and DFB National Team matches as well as the Bundesliga clubs SC Freiburg, VfB Stuttgart and VfL Wolfsburg.

Successful first delivery projects
As a first major delivery project, the new systems have been successfully deployed for all 32 matches across all nine venues of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011™, enhancing the visual appearance of FIFA Partners for the record-breaking worldwide TV broadcast. Last Monday, the boards premiered in a national competition, when FC Bayern Munich achieved a 3-0 victory over Eintracht Braunschweig in the first round of the DFB Cup.

Boosting brand communication to the next level
Infront was closely involved in the complete planning and development to ensure that the high expectations of its client and commercial partners are fulfilled. The process was supported by LANG AG - a European wholesaler for the hire and sale of visual presentation technology, based in Germany.

The new LED advertising boards together with further developed media server software represent the latest technology available on the market with superior performance capabilities – particularly for television viewing purposes. This leads to a clear-cut, colour-fast overall picture, also provided through a higher image frequency. Furthermore, the technology has been designed to work regardless of the camera position and provides better visibility from all angles, including the side-line of the pitch.

Bundesliga kick-off will feature new LED boards
Following successful operation at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011™ and the DFB Cup, the new advertising boards will from now on be rented to Infront clients and other third parties. Matches of the DFB national team (starting with Germany against Brazil in Stuttgart on 10 August 2011), further DFB Cup rounds (from 25 October 2011 onwards) and the Bundesliga clubs SC Freiburg, VfB Stuttgart and VfL Wolfsburg (kicking off the 2011/12 season this weekend) will see the new systems introduced.

The planning and development process for the new LED system was orchestrated and supervised by Infront’s Sports Services division. The team provides event organisers with a full range of venue dressing and communication solutions, including design, provision, erection and maintenance of all kinds of advertising and signage. To its partners, it will not only provide the LED boards, but also handle the set-up, operations and content production.

Rolf Weigel, Director Sports Services at Infront, said: “The investment is an attractive option for both existing and future Infront partners as the technology conforms to all international and league guidelines. Our objective is always to provide innovative and state-of-the-art venue communication solutions to our clients and maximise the impact of sponsor messages. These highly advanced LED systems are currently the best available solution on the market and reflect Infront’s commitment to stay at the cutting edge of sports marketing innovation.”
