Zug, Switzerland, 7 December 2005 – Infront Sports & Media AG, the exclusive commercial partner of the European Handball Federation (EHF) for the European Handball Championships, has signed an agreement for the television rights of the men's and women's tournaments 2008 and 2010 with the Scandinavian broadcasters TV2/Danmark A/S, TV2 AS Norway and TV4 AB Sweden for their respective broadcasting territories, thus prolonging an existing relationship for a further period.

This cooperation between Infront and the three television companies has been one of the main catalysts for the remarkable increase in television distribution for the European Championships in the last years.

Following impressive coverage of the 2002 tournaments in Sweden and Denmark, with more than 800 hours of television programming, the European Handball Federation achieved a further increase in 2004. More than a billion television viewers watched approximately 950 hours of programming of both events across more than 80 countries worldwide. The three television companies contributed to this development with high ratings for their live transmissions and high quality special programmes, further enhancing the total. Two of the EHF's forthcoming top events will be held in Scandinavia: The 2006 women's tournament in Sweden, where TV4 will act as the host broadcaster and the 2008 men's championship in Norway, where TV2 Norway will provide the signal.

"We are very happy to continue our long lasting relationship with Infront. We look forward to a successful cooperation also in the future," said Hans Pekkari, Head of Sports TV4. His colleague Morten Stig Christensen, Head of Sports, TV2 Denmark added, "Handball on TV2 is 'second to none' in Denmark. The national team's participation in the European Championships is creating huge ratings. It's therefore a great pleasure for us to prolong the agreement with Infront."

Oliver Seibert, Infront's Executive Director Media confirmed, "We are very satisfied with the prospect of an on-going cooperation with these leading broadcasters in Scandinavia. They have done a great deal to popularise the sport with viewers and develop the European Championships as a television product."

The next European Championship will be held in January 2006 in Switzerland. Infront Sports & Media has already concluded broadcast agreements in more than 45 countries for the event.
