News Detail
Infront signs STOBAG as official sponsor of FIS Alpine Ski World CupThe agreement marks the very first sports sponsorship commitment for the international manufacturer of awnings systems Zug / Muri, Switzerland, 14 July 2010 – STOBAG, leading manufacturer of awnings and weather protection systems, gets involved with sports sponsorship. Infront Sports & Media, the international sport marketing agency which collectively markets the advertising and sponsorship rights to numerous FIS Alpine Ski World Cup events, has recruited the Swiss-based brand as sponsor of FIS Alpine Ski World Cup for the two upcoming seasons. STOBAG will make its debut as a sponsor at the FIS World Cup in St. Moritz on December 11, 2010 - followed by further top-level events as the ones in Adelboden, Chamonix, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Lenzerheide and Wengen. STOBAG’s commitment will be based on the new marketing and sponsorship concept for the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup. It has been introduced by Infront last winter for the majority of FIS Alpine Ski World Cup events and offers a clearly perceived communication platform including comprehensive marketing packages. Encompassing significant numbers of races, these packages create strong exposure in major target markets throughout Europe. The display of banners and logos in prime locations or the branding of the athletes’ bib numbers are only a few examples of the various advertising opportunities that guarantee extensive television coverage to STOBAG. In addition, the attention of local visitors is guaranteed due to a wide range of presentation options at the respective event locations.
The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup – a wide reaching communication platform
It is mostly the high public interest for skiing in its core markets (e.g. Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, USA and Canada) that made STOBAG choose the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup as an ideal platform for its brand communication and product marketing. “Thanks to the FIS World Cup’s popularity and wide reach in terms of coverage, the name STOBAG will be spread all over the world with strong exposure in the majority of our European key markets”, says Martin Egger, Marketing Director of STOBAG. “There is no better setting for STOBAG’s very first involvement with sponsorship and we are proud of being part of such world class skiing events.”
About STOBAG
Infront – leading in winter sports
In recent years, Infront has focused strongly on developing its role in winter sports, to the point that it now represents six of seven Olympic winter sport federations at international level. This includes a long-term partnership with the IIHF in world ice hockey and a major role in international skiing, where it manages more than 90% of the media and/or marketing rights to FIS World Cup events. Partnerships with the FIBT for bobsleigh and skeleton, FIL for luge, the IBU for biathlon and the WCF for curling complete Infront’s winter sports portfolio. As a result Infront is able to offer the very best winter sports opportunities from one central source.
