Infront announces 2006 FIFA World Cup™ agreement with BK Telekom
Zug, Switzerland, 07 January 2005 -- Infront Sports & Media has reached an agreement with BK Telekom of Serbia and Montenegro and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, for the television and radio broadcast rights for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™.
BK Telekom has acquired a package of live and delayed broadcast rights for all matches of the event via terrestrial, satellite, cable and radio, exclusively across the territory in the languages of Serbian, Macedonian, Hungarian and Albanian.
Oliver Seibert, an Executive Director of Infront, said: "We are delighted to announce this agreement covering a territory where football is tremendously popular. This will ensure that viewers have a wide choice of viewing options on terrestrial, satellite and cable – choice is an important factor to the television viewer of today".
In Europe, rights agreements have now been signed covering 40 countries, equivalent to 77% of the continent. These most recently include agreements with German Pay-Television company Premiere Fernsehen, Czech TV for the Czech Republic and RTBF in Belgium.
