11.12.04 -- Infront Sports & Media has reached an agreement with German Pay-Television company Premiere Fernsehen & Co. KG, for a package of television broadcast rights which includes all 64 matches of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™.

Zug, Switzerland, 11 December 2004 -- Infront Sports & Media has reached an agreement with German Pay-Television company Premiere Fernsehen & Co. KG, for a package of television broadcast rights which includes all 64 matches of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™.

The package of rights includes both live and delayed broadcast coverage of the events for Pay-TV across Germany and Austria, with access to the HD (High-Definition) feed. Premiere will have exclusivity in Germany to broadcast live eight of the 16 matches played in parallel on the last four days of the first round.

Premiere Fernsehen has also acquired the television broadcast rights for the FIFA Confederations Cup, which takes place in Germany in 2005 and the Final Draw for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ on 9th December 2005.

This agreement completes 2006 FIFA World Cup™ television sales for live match coverage in Germany. As a result of the "open market" distribution policy introduced by Infront, this event – that is so especially important to the host country of Germany - will have unprecedented in-depth coverage through all the distribution channels available across the country.

Oliver Seibert, an Executive Director of Infront, said: "The football fan in Germany will be able to view this event as he or she chooses, with a tremendous variety of options. It is a world away from 1974 and it is fascinating to see how far television has come in the last three decades".
