Zug, Switzerland, 28 April 2005 - Infront Sports & Media has signed an exclusive agreement with Five - Channel 5 Broadcasting Limited – in the UK, covering all 16 matches of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2005 for the territory of the United Kingdom.

Following its successful experience as the broadcaster of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2003, Five is extending its commitment to the competition by covering the 2005 event, which takes place in Germany this summer; effectively a forerunner to the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ next year.

Five has acquired exclusive TV rights to broadcast every match of the competition live across the UK.

The FIFA Confederations Cup 2005 kicks off on 15th June in Cologne with the South American Champions Argentina playing the African Champions Tunisia. It finishes with the final in Frankfurt on the 29th June. The other participants in the competition are the Champions of the other Confederations, Japan, Mexico, Australia and Greece. These six national teams are joined by the World Champions Brazil and host nation Germany.

"We are delighted that there will be full coverage of this important FIFA event throughout the UK, which is one of Europe's most important football markets" said Oliver Seibert, an Executive Director of Infront. "The UK has some of the world's most enthusiastic football fans and with teams of this calibre playing in the competition, we are sure interest will be high and viewers will be looking at the performances of teams with great interest".
