Spengler Cup Davos

Each year between Christmas and New Year (26 - 31 December), five teams from around the world are invited by Swiss host HC Davos to compete in the Spengler Cup - the oldest international club competition in ice hockey. Fast paced and considered an honour to participate, the competition takes place over six days and is held at the Vaillant Arena in Davos, Switzerland.

Tradition of ice hockey at its best

The annual Spengler Cup tournament in Davos, Switzerland is the world's oldest club ice hockey tournament and was first held in 1923. It is hosted by the record-holding Swiss team HC Davos. Many of Europe's most prestigious clubs and national programs have appeared, including Soviet, Swedish, Finnish, Czechoslovakian and German powerhouses. The annual six-day event at Vaillant Arena is one continuous party, on the ice and off. The stands are packed with over 7,000 spectators every match and feature the uniquely pitched atmosphere typical of ice hockey in Switzerland.

Capturing thrilling action

All forms of media rights for the event are available including TV, radio and digital media for live, delayed and highlights coverage on an international basis (excluding the USA and Canada). The production is handled by Swiss host broadcaster SRG, providing full HD coverage of all games. The games are produced using more than 12 cameras positioned in key locations to cover the heart of the action.
