Treating broadcasters as valued customers
The Broadcaster Servicing Team's operations for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ in Germany involved locating a total team of 50 people for across the 12 venues and the IBC, for before, during and after the competition. Between 2002 and 2006, it has also been responsible for the calendar of Other FIFA Events, which have taken place in every continent, demonstrating how the team can adapt to varied and challenging working conditions.
For the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ this well-established servicing operation involved managing all day-to-day liaison, information services, on-site services and contract administration for 500 contracted broadcasters. This ensured continuity and was well-received by broadcast partners worldwide, ensuring consistent, streamlined treatment of all broadcasters, regardless of who is the contracting party.
Broadcaster Servicing also took responsibility for the monitoring and research programme. This included the scanning of the Internet for any unauthorised use of video or audio, but also the post-event reporting of broadcast details, such as audiences, airing times and type of broadcast.
